Is being habitually passive in a relationship likely to lead to a gradual loss of love?

Many people remain passive in their relationships, never initiating conversations, making appointments, or resolving conflicts on their own. They are accustomed to waiting for the other party to take the initiative in maintaining the relationship. They always believe that true love means the other party should take the initiative to give, and they should passively accept the love. There is no need to deliberately work on the relationship.

From a psychological perspective, relationships are a two-way emotional interaction. Long-term passive behavior on one side will directly disrupt the balance of the relationship. The active party, who maintains and continuously expresses emotions and love alone, will gradually feel tired and lost after repeatedly not receiving responses.

Passive people may seem to be firmly in their positions with no losses, but in fact, they are slowly consuming each other’s. Long-term lack of initiative and maintenance will cause the relationship to gradually cool down, the to dissipate, and the topics to decrease. Two people, who were once extremely close, gradually become distant and estranged.

Long-lasting relationships never wait or come easily. One does not need to always be proactive, but they must never be completely passive. Appropriate sharing, breaking the ice, and cherishing should be done actively. Only this two-way interaction can keep the love warm and constant.
