How to distinguish between a man’s pretended repentance and his genuine remorse

When a man is caught cheating, the majority of them will immediately apologize humbly, cry and beg for mercy, promising that this is only a one-time incident and they will never do it again. Many victims find it difficult to distinguish between the genuine and the fake, are moved by the cheap apology, and easily choose to forgive. However, not long after, the other party still repeats the same mistake, causing them to suffer emotional harm again.
False repentance and genuine remorse have fundamental differences. False repentance is merely to calm the current conflict, to avoid breaking up and to avoid arguments. They keep repeating apologies verbally, but their behavior remains unchanged. They still hide their social activities, are unwilling to actively cut off contact with the third party, and never face up to their own mistakes.
Men who truly repent will never just use words to cover up. They will actively and honestly disclose all the problems, openly share their social media accounts; consciously cut off all contacts with the ambiguous partners; are willing to accept long-term supervision and actively avoid scenarios that are likely to cause misunderstandings; and at the same time, face up to their own problems, correct their shortcomings, and fundamentally prevent any further crossing of boundaries.
Verbal apologies are costly, while real changes are the most convincing. Girls should not be kidnapped by emotions and sweet words, and should not easily forgive based on a temporary attitude. They should make a comprehensive judgment based on behavior, mentality, and handling methods, distinguish between false repentance and genuine correction, and avoid blindly softening their hearts and repeatedly getting trapped in the quagmire of emotional betrayal.
